Hey Beautiful,
This week, while sitting on the side of the bed, I had another overly dramatic conversation with myself and God that went a little something like this:
"God, I don't want to do this anymore."
"Okay, maybe I'm just tired."
"No, no, I really don't want to do this anymore. I'm tired. I'm stressed. It's too hard. I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around all of this. It's really, really too much for me."
God: "My strength is made perfect in weakness."
Me: Sniffs, wipes face, blows nose rather loudly, takes more than a few deep breaths... then, "Okay, I'm going."
Have you ever been there? Finding yourself having ongoing conversations with yourself that are super dramatic, drawn out and usually end with God having his way?
Beautiful, I just wanted to stop through your inbox and remind you:
Most of the time it’s You vs. You.
The internal chatter, "self-talk", experiences you have with yourself on the side of the bed, in the bathroom, or in the car… MATTERS!
It's okay to have moments but just like every movie we've seen with a prizefighter storyline (and I'll choose to reference Million Dollar Baby or that new one on Netflix with Halle Berry - you know the one), we know it's the short talks that happen in the corner of the ring that matter the most.
It's time to chat yourself back from the brink, beautiful. It's time to get focused and STAY THERE.
Life Application: When I was teaching my babies vocabulary words I’d have them repeat this mantra: “Say the word, Spell the word, Write the Word”. It would encourage them to focus on learning the words vs just memorizing them for the test. I wanted them to know that understanding and having knowledge of something was way more valuable than surface-level information to take a test or prove a point.
So, I'll say the same to you. Let's get to a place where the Word of God isn't just surface-level information we pull out when it sounds the fanciest. Let's really lean on what we KNOW.
Let's focus this week on talking yourself INTO walking. Let's talk ourselves into moving forward because technically, you’re the only one who can talk yourself out of progress.
This week I'm challenging us to:
1. Speak the Word of God over your life
2. Spell it out (make it plan with Study)
3. Write the Word (vision)
Remember: It's You vs. You. Self-chatter matters. Feed your thoughts and your spirit with what you KNOW to be true of God.
Let’s go!
Love You,
Lady Porscha
